Banská Bystrica

On 21 Nov the yellow inspection van made within the SENSOR survey a stop in the historical city of Banská Bystrica, which is the seat of the authorities of the central Slovakia region. During a short stop the vehicle and the technology was presented to the local media and regional road authority representatives. Mr. Martin Juck, the SENSOR project coordinator for Slovakia explained the goals of the SENSOR project. The local representatives expressed their wish to cooperate with a similar project in the future, which would cover also the 2nd and 3rd class roads under their ownership and maintenance.

Bratislava

On 20 Nov 2013 a press conference and a half-day briefing was held in the capital of Slovak Republic, Bratislava. The yellow inspection vehicle and the inspection team were presented to the media and to the key stakeholders. In a friendly atmosphere the Slovak SENSOR team, led by the SAMS President Mr. Peter Roth and the SENSOR Project Manager for Slovakia, Dr. Zoltán Bojar, met the representatives of the Ministry of Transport, National Highway Agency and Traffic Police Department. All attended authorities expressed their support to the ongoing Road Inspection of the primary Slovak roads. SENSOR brochure with the basic project data and promo-materials were distributed to the attendees.

The event was covered by two most-watched nationwide TV channels and the Slovak Radio 1. The Slovak SENSOR team gave several interviews and statements, a 5-minutes TV spot was broadcasted in the first channel of the Slovak TV (RTVS) on 1 December 2013.

Nitra

On 20 Nov from 6:00 am to 09:00 am the Slovak SENSOR team and the vehicle became one of the „stars“ in the live TV show „Telemorning“, broadcasted by the second most-watched nationwide Slovak TV Channel Markiza. Dr. Bojar, the SENSOR project manager for Slovakia spoke about the vision, goals and benefits of the SENSOR project for the SEE region and the inspection team (Mr. Jiří Landa and Mr. Lubomír Tříska) explained the methodology and the equipment of the certified inspection vehicle.

The vehicle then continued to the SAMS headquarters in Nitra, where a short stop was organized, and brochures and promo-materials were distributed to the public.

The morning TV broadcast had an immediate effect: the Slovak SENSOR received an invitation from the technical director of the National Highway Agency, Mr Török, to a separate face-to-face meeting in order to discuss the SENSOR project in more detail.

Stará Ľubovňa

On 22 Nov the SENSOR road inspection vehicle passed through Stará Ľubovňa, one of the small cities in the heart of High Tatra mountain region. As part of the stop the inspection team showed the inside of the vehicle and how the inspection system works, brochures and promo-materials were distributed to the public. Beautiful pictures and videos were taken.

Strečno - Ružomberok - Zvolen

On 21 Nov the SENSOR road inspection vehicle passed through the busy national 1st class roads I/18 and I/65, where road accidents with fatal and serious consequences are concentrated. The yellow vehicle has been circulating through the streets of the Zvolen city, equipped with cameras and the latest technology systems. The vehicle attracted the attention of passersby and local media.

At the same time Dr. Zoltán Bojar, the SENSOR project manager for Slovakia spoke in the specialized motorist broadcast „ATTENTION, CURVE !“ (aired nationwide by SLOVENSKY ROZHLAS FM), where he in a 10 minutes spot explained the basic data, main goals and benefits of the SENSOR project.

Makov

On 25 Oct the SENSOR road inspection was officially started. On a symbolic place - the border crossing Makov between Slovakia and Czech Republic the Slovak SENSOR team, represented by the project manager Dr. Zoltán Bojar and the project coordinator Mr. Martin Juck met the inspection team, combined from the experts of the companies MAXNETWORK and AF-CITYPLAN. Hands were shaken, pictures taken, and the inspection successfully started. Makov is also the km 0,00 of one the most dangerous and busiest roads in Slovakia, the road I/18, which still remains a part of the TEN-T network.

At the inspection kick-off point attended also representatives from the Slovak Road Administration and Traffic Police Department, who showed their readiness to support the inspection vehicle during the survey, if needed.
